In the bank's tariffs, the basic account is labelled as a product for residents, and non-residents are offered a more expensive account. The right to a basic account under Art. 73n ZPU depends on legal stay, not on residence status: in your application, ask explicitly for a “platni račun sa osnovnim uslugama” and cite this article.

What people say

No recent reviews from foreigners about the PRSOU at Addiko were found. A since-removed Habr article (2023) listed Addiko among banks where opening an account was “difficult or impossible” (second-hand account). wiki.private.law (09/2026): no public data on its practice with non-residents. In 2026: a change of control of the group (RBI) and a planned transfer of Serbian Addiko to Alta Group (media reports).

Caveats

  • Two mail addresses: Omladinskih brigada 90G (prigovor, per the bank's notice) and Trgovačka 2 (pisarnica).
  • The PRSOU is marked “fizičko lice rezident” in the Pregled usluga; the bank may offer non-residents paid alternatives instead of the PRSOU.
  • The list of documents for individuals is not published.
  • Some forms still show the old address Milutina Milankovića 7v — do not use it.
  • Change of owner (RBI/Alta Group, 2026) — bank details may change; not verified.
  • The bank does not publish its rules on the EBS/“identifikacioni broj u matičnoj državi” (home-country ID number) (Sl. glasnik 63/2026).

  • written statement that you have no payment account at another bank (may be required)

Asked for beyond the law:

  • FATCA status, purpose of the business relationship/source of funds under KYC (OUP) — the bank does not publish a list of documents for individuals
  • by the bank's definition, a resident has lived in Serbia for more than 1 year (OUP Prilog 1, t. 13)

Online: not for foreigners (the OUP provides for video identification/qualified e-signature, but there is no list for foreigners); the account is opened at a branch “na licu mesta” (on the spot)
